Countdown To Conference!

Conference is less than 2 weeks away and I'm trying to get ready!  We have always thought our kids were "too young" to get a lot out of the meetings, though we enjoyed their dancing to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir...LOL  But at ages 6 and 4 this is definitely not the case anymore and it's time to learn!

Mostly we just want them (and us) to recognize the faces of the apostles and first presidency, and know a little more about these great men who have accepted the call to stand as witnesses of Christ.  So, we cut out the great activity pages found here (btw there are links on that page from each leader's name giving their bio's- so easy to learn about them!!!)  We have been learning about one or two leaders every night and taking turns sitting them in their chair on the poster...
I'm glad we're doing this because a) it's fun and b) when I told my son President Uchtdorf was also a pilot at first he told me this couldn't be true because he was a prophet, but when he finally understood it made President Uchtdorf that much cooler.  And it's true.  The more we personally know about these people the more real they are and the more real their testimonies are.

So print this, cut it out, and put a little face in his chair every night before conference.

Also, if you go to the Church News and Events you can search and download pictures and print them for your own use.  I printed and "picassaed" some images of President Monson so the kids could have pictures of him in their rooms.  They ended up wanting to put them on their bedroom doors- too cute! :)

Then I put some of the First Presidency up in the house.  Let me tell you, it's a lot harder to get short with your kids with them smiling over your shoulder. :)

The gospel is true and every little effort we make to live it will lead to BIG, great things...like a loving family.
Luv, Eva
